Lady Reds Basketball is back
Eaton starts their basketball season at home
Things are back to normal for girls basketball. With the year ready to kick off, Reds basketball’s schedule is back to a full season. Starting the year, the Reds head coach Todd Hernandez, has begun practice in order to prepare for a strong start to the year as the calendar turns to December.
With three seniors this season, Ahana Leffler (22), Savanna Schroth (22), and Mackenzie Crouch (22), the Reds will have the goal of hanging another banner at Eaton High School.
Leffler said, “I’m looking forward to playing with my teammates and growing stronger together to win a state championship.”
Last year, the Reds finished with a record of 11-3 and in the Patriot League, 8-2. Last year’s journey ended for the Reds in the playoffs after a loss to the Platte Valley Broncos. This year, Leffler said, “The team’s biggest goals are to go undefeated and win a state title.”
Leyah Scott (23) said, “We want to always compete and play as a team instead of individuals.”
The Girls kick off their season on December 2 where they will take on Bayfield High School who finished with a record of 1-12 last season. As a part of the Roundball Classic, the Reds will also play Friday, December 3, and will play against the Ravens of Riverdale Ridge who were 5-9 in the 2020-21 season.
Scott said, “I am looking forward to just being with the girls and having fun together this season.”
