After four teams had battled it out in the Make-a-Wish Volleyball Tournament, a fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Team Kendra emerged as winners.
The tournament was put on by the EHS Student Council as one of the events for the Make-a-Wish Week on April 5. Four teams had signed up, contributing a total of $80 to what the student council has raised already (about $200 at the time this article is being written). The tournament consisted of the Team Kendra, a team of teachers, Team Mustache and Team Britten. The fact that no one remembers the final score of the championship game only testifies how the contest was all in good spirits. Team Kendra beat both its adversaries to take home the trophy, winning the final game against Team Mustache after having beaten Team Britten in its first game. Following the game, Reed Merritt (12), a member of the winning team, said “I think Keenan (Hall) and Kendra (Cunningham) played really well. They definitely carried the team a little bit, but you can’t count out the rest. We were six players and we all played a big role.” Nick Gregory (12) added, “We were confident in our ability, especially Kendra and Keenan’s”
