17-6 Reds run rule the Indians

Brooke Beacom (22) rounds first and moves to second after smacking a double.

The Eaton Reds softball team is perfect through three games.  Another blow out against the Strasburg Indians brings the Reds to 3-0.

A score of 17-6 brought the Reds another run rule for their third game in a row.  A huge first and third inning got the Reds a big lead and they never looked back.

The game ended early in the fifth inning because of the run rule from another outstanding pitching outing, defense, and especially the offense.

Sadie Ross (24) pitched another complete game giving up six runs, but the Reds offense helped her out by scoring 17 of their own. Ross, a freshman who has started all three games on varsity this season said, “I am so honored to play on such an amazing varsity team. I was nervous at first, but the confidence everyone else had in me helped.”

Yaritza Puente (21) gave the Reds four RBI’s going three for four with a double, two base hits, and a walk.  Sadie Ross didn’t only play great pitching, at the plate, she went three for four with two doubles and a triple along with three RBI’s.  Brooke Beacom (22) also had two RBI’s with two doubles.

Ross said, “It’s always great to pitch when I know I have a defense to back me up. I know if I go out and give one hundred percent, our bats will follow.”

Next, the Reds will take on the 1-1 Lyons Lions on the road on August 27.
