Makeshift Prom
Sports…canceled. School…canceled. Graduation…postponed. But what about prom? Due to the high number of participants that a prom includes, it has been canceled as it breaks the quarantine laws that are in place. As a result of this cancellation, people have been holding their own mini prom celebrations. There has been a range of “at home proms” taking place. Sometimes they are as simple as a girl putting on makeup, doing her hair, and getting into the dress she was going to wear the night of prom. Luckily for the girls the nail salons are open for appointments. Other high school students are holding small get-togethers with friends and getting dressed up. Some couples are enjoying delicious dinners from the comfort of a home and going out to take pictures to capture the memory of their night together. When you are all dressed up with your date (or friends), having a photo shoot is an absolute must! When are you going to be fancied up like that again together? Prom is an amazing, fun-filled night full of laughs, smiles, and dancing. It’s a shame that the actual thing had to be canceled, but make the most of what you have and have as much fun as possible in this quarantined time.
