Reds bring home first-place at Regionals

Softball wins regional game against The Academy and move onto state

With state just around the corner, the Reds Softball won the regional game against The Academy on October 19, winning with a score of 14-4. Before regionals, the girls were ranked 7th in the state. During the season the team ran short against Sterling, Strasburg, and Brush whose Beetdigger girls top the 3A rankings. The Reds finished off the season rough, losing to the Tigers, Indians and Beat Diggers the last three games of the normal season. Maintaining their top-10 rankingĀ  in state, the team collectively throughout the season achieved 70 stolen bases, 16 home runs, and a batting average of .418% which all exceed the national average. The Reds executed the mercy rule against Faith Christian and swept the annual Fightin’ Reds Ramble Invitational. The girls will compete at the State Tournament October 25-26 and will potentially compete against state rank leaders University, Strasburg, and Brush.
