The Girl’s swim team went on their first over-night trip in years to Rampart High School in Colorado Springs taking 6th place. The team left the 20th and came back late that night just in time to attend the Morp dance. Over twenty girls made it back the next day to finals, a true accomplishment and the most that has made it back in many years. Bailey Wilson (12) said, “It was a lot of fun bringing so many girls back. There was such a great energy and everyone competed really well.” Wilson placed in the top five for all of her events. All relay events scored and gave the opportunity for younger girls to be put into a more competitive environment. Keri Ruff (13) said, “It was a great learning experience for the younger swimmers.”
This meet is a great trial run of what the girls will experience at Conference or State because of the two-day format. This is one of the reasons the team chose this meet so they could get comfortable with performing over two days. Coach Doug Stone said,“Its good for kids who have never seen something that kind of meet format and kids were able to move up places on both days.”
