Community gathers to remember Kennedi Ingram

Balloons released in honor of Kennedi Ingram.

A year after her passing, Kennedi Ingram’s spirit is still alive in the town of Eaton. February 6, 2018 was a devastating night when Ingram was tragically killed in a train collision. A year later, students, families, and many other community members who were impacted by her passing gathered at Eaton High School for a day of remembrance.

People came and prayed with Pastor Jason Newby from the Evangelical Free Church, who addressed the family and community. Everyone in attendance was given a balloon and a chance to write on a heart and put it either on the balloon or on the Memorial Tree. The balloons were released in the front of the school and flown high for her memory. A volleyball jersey with her number, 6, was framed and put up in the senior hallway with her name, and the number 6 has been retired in her honor.
