Girls basketball crushes Brush 68 – 44
Reds Basketball defeated Brush Beetdiggers 68 to 44 on Friday January 25. Eaton led in scoring throughout the game, starting the second half with a ten point lead over Brush. The game was heavily influenced by Eaton’s senior teammates, Sydney Booth, Michaela Hill, Gracie Schreiber, and Bailie Duncan. The four seniors led the game together, scoring 42 of the teams 68 points. Head Coach Todd Hernandez believed it was the experience of the senior girls and their leadership on the team that helped win the game. Hernandez said “The seniors this year have been on Varsity for 2 or 3 years each so that experience has helped our team understand what is expected. Everyone contributed in some way.” Senior Sydney Booth credited the success of the game to her teammates and fellow seniors. Booth said, “It was a team effort, and if we continue to play the way we played against Brush we’re going to be hard to stop.” Booth and the rest of the girls basketball team, hope to maintain their winning season as they prepare for their next game against the Resurrection Christian Cougars on January 29th.
