The Eaton Reds girls basketball team continued their spectacular season with a win Friday night against the conference opponent Valley Vikings with a score of 50-38. The girls jumped out to a 3-0 lead on their first offensive possession with a 3-pointer from Leah Cheney (13) and only trailed twice in the game. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Vikings made a run and pulled to within 5 of making the game a tie, but Cheney again hit a big 3-pointer with two minutes left to put the game out of reach from the Vikings. Cheney led all scorers with 17.
The Reds, with a 10-1 (4-0) record, lead the Patriot League. Eaton travels to Mead on Tuesday, Jan. 24, to take on the 5-7 (1-3) Mavericks in a patriot League clash.
