The Eaton District Staff was polled on its opinion regarding the mascot, and 79 responses are reflected in these graphs. The Red Ink will be hosting a public forum with the Governor’s Commission on March 10 to discuss the mascot. Currently 57 percent of the district staff favor keeping the mascot. When asked to choose “all that apply” the most common answer was “no matter what happens to the mascot, the name Reds should remain” with 32 responses. Twenty-nine employees responded that the “the mascot is a positive representation of the school district.” The third most common response was that “Eaton should be able to decide this matter for itself” with 29 responses.
