In a mad rush towards the cafeteria, the students of EHS lined up for free treats at the Student Council Ice Cream Social on August 22. After his first week of high school, Cody Wyatt (18) said the ice cream social was “Pretty cool, you can meet people and eat free ice cream.”

Similarly, Paige Trujillo (16) said the ice cream social is a good idea because “people enjoy eating ice cream with their peers.” The cafeteria bustled with students chatting and enjoying ice cream, a success for the EHS Student Council.

Student Council member DJ Stover said, “Everything went went well and ran smoothly.It’s a good opportunity for new kids and freshmen to meet people.” Mrs. Hixon, the Student Council Adviser, said, “Its a great start to the year by ending the first week with a sugar surge.” The Ice Cream Social kicks off the Student Council year.

Its next big event is the homecoming week and dance with the possible themes: the Avatar cartoon series, 90s cartoons, or the Divergent books/movie. Students can vote by placing money in a theme’s respectable jar in the office until Monday, Sept. 8.
