The action and suspense of the original superhero movie intrigues America, but the new twist of romance added into the more recent films has captured its attention completely. Many of the superhero movies recently produced have been based off of old comics.
The biggest money maker in box office history was The Dark Night, which was produced by Warner Brothers Productions. This movie was the highest selling superhero movie on record with a profit of $533 million.
“I liked The Dark Night; it was pretty realistic,” said Reece Kothe (14). The Dark Knight set a record for a midnight debut by bringing in $18.5 million.
Jumaal Lohr (14) said, “Batman is awesome. I would take a girl to see the new movie.” The sequel to The Dark Night, The Dark Night Rises, will hit movie theaters on July 20. The Dark Knight Rises will be the final movie of the series. Some of the stars of the movies are Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman. Two new villains, played by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy, will also be introduced in The Dark Knight Rises. The villains are intended to portray a deep psychological part in their character and will have to be able to use their muscle to intimidate Batman in The Dark Knight Rises. The movie is expected to make a huge profit coming from all the loyal fans. Jerry Cruz (13) said, “Superhero movies are entertaining to watch.”
